The domestic dog is a member of the family Canidae which includes wolves, foxes and coyotes. They were the first animals that people fed on purpose. People have been taking care of dogs since about 13,000 B.C. in the Stone Age, even before the beginning of farming.
It is likely that in the beginning, dogs hung around the campsites early Man, trying to snatch some garbage to eat. At first, early Man must have tried to scare the dogs away. But after a while, the hunters living in this camps realized that the dogs are rats, and also helped to clean up garbage that drew flies and other insects. So campaign with dogs were cleaner, v and healthier than campsites without dogs. Add a result, people living in these cleaner healthier camps began to encourage the dogs by feeding them and others began to follow their example. In time, dogs became more and more useful to Man, until today they are considered to be Man's best friend.
